Vintage 2000 Barolo Futures
Four Masters, Two Approaches, One Grape
Whether you like your wines ultra-modern, strictly traditional or a mix of both, here are four top producers that you simply can’t miss. IWM brings you the best of both camps: Roberto Voerzio and Domenico Clerico from the modernists, Giacomo Conterno and Bruno Giacosa from the traditionalists. Adhering to the IWM quality credo, we offer these wines because each of these winemakers expresses the essence of excellence. For the benefit of our collectors, we are offering these wines at attractive "first offer" pricing until this allocation runs out. Don't miss the opportunity to stock up.

Top producers make great wines every year at every level. So in addition to their 2000 Barolos, pick up a few of their other bottlings for your stash of everyday wines!

Call us today at 212.473.2323 to customize your selection of the best of 2000 Barolo...and beyond. Please note that many of these wines were recently bottled, so some won't reach our cellars until Fall 2004. Don't wait to purchase, however, as we will sell out long before they arrive

Giacomo Conterno
Fanatics of quality known for their long-lived wines, this traditional estate recently narrowed its focus strictly to Nebbiolo and Barbera. The Conternos ripped out their Freisa and Dolcetto vines to be able to bring you more of their superior quality wines. The cream of Giacomo's crop is the Barolo Monfortino, crafted only in the very best vintages and aged the longest, lending superior structure to this ethereal wine.

Bruno Giacosa
One of the last surviving sages of Piemonte with over 50 harvests under his belt, Bruno knows his fruit and his wine. His vines are tucked into every corner of the province, proving he will go extreme lengths to find the perfect placement for each. From the Langhe to the Roero, he cultivates whites and reds, from Dolcetto and Nebbiolo to Barbaresco and Barolo. He ages his reds in traditional 50 and 100 hectoliter barrels, allowing the terroir of the fruit to surface.

Domenico Clerico
Domenico’s modern style crus differ little in terms of quality – each is superb. The Percristina is the most velvety, the Ciabot Mentin Ginestra is the most austere and powerful, the Pajana is the roundest and toastiest. His Dolcetto is unusually stout, with a nice coat of oak to complement its full-throttle flavors.

2000 Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra $59.00
2000 Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra $129.00 1.5L
2000 Barolo Pajana $59.00

1999 Barolo Percristina $79.00
