RED Alert!

Every so often we come across a selection of wines in our inventory and get excited over the fact that we have such great wines to offer our clients. Recently, we noticed that we have been recommending a group of special reds from Tuscany and Piedmont to so many of our clients, that we thought it our duty to alert ALL of our subscribers to these fantastic wines.

The problem is, we want all of our clients to experience these wines, but there’s just not enough to go around. So consider these awesome wines and either grab a six-pack (one of each) or just focus on the items that interest you. Either way, jump on these great wines while you have the chance!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1997 La Poderina Brunello di Montalcino - $59.50
“Glorious aromas of crushed berries, spices and cherries, with hints of cedar. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins and a thick and rich palate. Loads of cherry fruit. Luscious red.”
94 points, Wine Spectator
1997 Poggio Salvi Brunello di Montalcino - $45.00
“Wow” - a perfect word to describe this ’97. Rich and dense with brushes of tobacco and smoke leading into an enormously long finish. Owned by the esteemed Biondi-Santi family, this estate is a benchmark for Brunello. It keeps traditional methods alive by producing wines of utmost structure, complexity and elegance.
1997 Argiano Solengo - $125.00
Sangiovese, Cabernet and Syrah. “…spectacular. Opaque purple-colored, it displays a fabulously sweet nose of creme de cassis, new saddle leather, toasty new oak, licorice, and flowers…amazing richness.”
94 points, Robert Parker
2000 La Spinetta Barbera d’Asti Superiore - $42.00
Grafted onto 50-60 year old rootstock. Compelling ruby-purple in the glass and alive with baked cherries, overripe strawberries and juicy blackberries. A touch of bitter chocolate. Medium tannins, mostly oak-derived, and good balancing acidity.
1998 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto - $110.00
The fabulous dark plum color is accompanied by a classic combination of melted tar, truffles, and cherries. Spice and cedar aromas, as well. Full-bodied and dense, yet extremely harmonious.
1998 Clerico Barolo Pajana - $75.00
“The dense ruby/purple-colored 1998 Barolo Pajana reveals copious new oak along with lead pencil, black cherry, blackberry, licorice, and earth aromas…structured, powerful, full-bodied, chewy.”
92 points, Robert Parker
Put together all of them in a fantastic six-pack for $456.50
