New Plans for the Enoteca Italiana
Fabio
Carlesi, the new Secretary General of the Enoteca Italiana, has
presented a very clear program. He intends to stand firm on issues
of protection and consolidation, and he stressed the importance
of the marriage between wine and land. This last will be the
leitmotif of the Enoteca’s promotion abroad, which will
focus mostly on the Eastern European markets and China. The production
of generic wines is a potential problem that would seriously
maim the Italian presence in foreign markets, making prevention
another crucial part of his program. But the new program won’t
just be wine – the new catch phrase will be “oeno-gastronomy,” with
wine touted as the Italian product par excellence. Carlesi
further hopes to establish bonds with numerous estates, which should
bring the Enoteca closer to the people and products it represents
while also allowing it to integrate nationwide promotional endeavors
with individual ones.
