Approximately
50 guests attended this IWM seminar. Presented by Sergio
Esposito, this unique event featured prestigious reds,
from the old guard to
the newly emerging wines of sunny Toscana.

 Italy's
Noble Reds
On
June 9th, Italy's Noble Reds were introduced in our
Studio
de Gusto to more than 50 wine lovers and collectors.
Joe Bastianich and David Lynch of Babbo conducted a "best
of the best" tasting of Barolo, Barbaresco, Super
Tuscans, Amarone and more.

Tasting: Italy, from North To South
On
May 28th, more than 50 seminar participants had the rare
opportunity to meet nine top wine producers from Italy,
including La Tenaglia,
La Rasina, Cima, and Pira.
For over two
hours guests enjoyed the wines, learned about the background
of
the wines, spoke with the winemakers, and enjoyed
the tasty antipasti.

Tasting: Italian Cult Wines
The Cult Wines of Italy were introduced to 50 guests
in IWM's Studio del Gusto on May 29th. Many
of these wines are rarely seen in the US.
Jens Schmidt of Montecastelli, Sergio Esposito and five top
producers presented these rare and prestigious wines.
 Baritones,
Sopranos, and Vino
On May
8th, IWM was very pleased to feature Joe Bastianich,
Soprano Shuying Li (Budapest
Opera, Hong Kong Opera), and Baritone Douglas Jabara (Opera
Providence, Caramoor Festival).
Wine lovers and collectors who attended experienced the
power, beauty and texture of the human voice alongside
Italy's
finest wines.
 Opening
Night: Daniel Thomases of The Wine Advocate
Daniel Thomases
hosted the first seminar of our spring season. More
than 30 people attended
and tasted some of Italy's most obscure grape varieties.
Daniel
did a stellar job presenting the wines, from Aglianico, "the
Nebbiolo of the South," to Vermentino, a rising star
on Tuscany's southern coastline.

at IWM seminars. These include Daniel Thomases of Robert
Parker's The Wine Advocate, Maurizio Anselma, Franco Conterno,
David
Lynch of Babbo, Maurizio Castelli of Bastianich, Ales Kristancic
of Movia, and Stefano Moccagatta of Villa Sparina.
