About the Producer:
The estate of
Lis Neris is in the Comune di San Lorenzo, a subzone of
Friuli
bordered
by Slovenia to the north and the Isonzo River
to the south. The vineyards are planted on a gravelly plateau
where they enjoy a climate that fosters slow maturation: the combination
of the soil and the environment makes for solid, well-balanced
grapes that impart rich aromas and flavors to the wines they create.
The Pecorari family settled in San Lorenzo and began working in
viticulture in the early 19th century. Lis Neris is now run by
Alvaro Pecorari, whose modernization in the vineyard and the cellar
during the 1990's set the stage for a range of great wines that
are now known and respected around the world.
